Disneys Conservation and Eco-Friendly Services

"At Disney, we believe being a good corporate citizen is the right thing to do: for our consumers and guests, our employees, and our businesses. It makes our company a desirable place to work, reinforces the attractiveness of our brands and entertainment, and strengthens our bonds with families."

Disney strives to be a great corporate citizen. They do their best to educate people and make a difference in the world. In order to make a difference in other peoples lives, they believed they should start in their own company to set an example.
They became part of the Green Lodging program which focuses on water conservation, education and awareness, waste reduction, energy conservation and indoor air quality. In every park and resort they recycle. In 2007 alone they recycled more than 39,000 tons of material. They also believe in water conservation, where less new water and more recycled water is used. 80% of the irrigation system in the resorts and parks is recycled water. In every hotel room there is a "green checklist" that reminds guests of some of the things we might forget about while on vacation like turning off the lights, turning the thermostat back, closing all windows and doors securely and making sure faucets are shut off. Many hotels also offer in-room recycling, only changes sheets and towels upon guest request in order to conserve water, and a room key recycling program.

The Disney Wildlife Conservation Fund supports scientific research and habitat protection of the world’s wildlife and ecosystems. Disney’s Animal Programs at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Epcot’s The Seas with Nemo and Friends are devoted to the care of more than 1,500 mammals, birds and reptiles, and over 5,000 fish, including a number of endangered and threatened species. Both facilities are accredited under the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. Specifically The Seas with Nemo and Friends at Epcot participates with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and other conservation groups in the Manatee Rehabilitation Partnership. The Seas is a designated rehabilitation site for rescued manatees and sea turtles until they are well enough to be returned to their natural habitat.

Walt Disney Websites

The great thing about my company is that there are so many international websites for it.
The Main page for everything that is going on in the Walt Disney Company is (http://thewaltdisneycompany.com/). This website has news of whats going on with the Walt Disney Company in general. From the current stock price to the latest Disney investments to current news on what Disney is up to with films, tv shows and community service.

The main US page is (http://disney.go.com/index)...

Here is a list of some of the international sites...
Russia- http://www.disney.ru/
Italy- http://www.disney.it/
South Africa- http://www.disney.co.za/index.jsp
China- http://www.disney.cn/
India- http://www.disney.in/index.jsp
United Kingdom- http://www.disney.co.uk/
France - http://www.disney.fr/
Israel- http://disney.co.il/
Australia- http://home.disney.com.au/
Japan- http://www.disney.co.jp/home.html
Venezuela- http://www.disneylatino.com/es/home-la/index.jsp
Brazil- http://www.disney.com.br/pt/
Greece- http://www.disney.gr/

None of the websites are at all dull when it comes to animation and presentation. The main difference to each website is the language and events in each country. Each website has different sections on games, characters, movies, tv shows, merchandise and depending on what country has a park...a section where you can plan your vacation and see that countries parks and hotels.
